Mental Health and Suicide Awareness in Community Pharmacy

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians frequently interact with patients and colleagues who may be experiencing mental health challenges yet often report limited training and confidence in responding to these situations. This article reviews mental health trends, important statistics for suicide risk among pharmacy professionals, and workplace factors contributing to burnout and depression. It also provides practical strategies to recognize warning signs and symptoms, apply the ALGEE action plan, identify protective factors, and connect individuals with mental health resources.
